Additional LTPB Supporting Resources for Campus Clinics

Health Professional Liaison Guide:
  • is a key component of the LTPB Blueprint system for Planning, Implementation and Evaluation. This valuable resource provides a comprehensive overview of the entire LTPB program.
Pocket Cards:
  • provide a quick BTI overview for physicians or nurses to refer to as well as some helpful information for talking to clients about smoking. These cards are a gentle prompt for health professionals to include BTI in their usual patient care interactions.
Visual Cues
  • are to remind you to ask about, and assess the client’s tobacco use. If your clinic uses an electronic medical system, visual cues can take the form of special computer prompts to ask the clients about tobacco use. If paper files are used, LTPB can provide stickers or self inked stamps for you to establish a system within your clinic for identifying tobacco use
Leave The Pack Behind Campus Clinic Bulletin
  • is a brief newsletter written for campus health professionals providing current research and information about post-secondary students’ smoking behaviours. These arrive in your mail periodically.
  • Check out our most current bulletins.
A Carbon Monoxide Monitor

can be used to motivate smokers to quit. LTPB student teams use Carbon monoxide monitors on campus however these monitors could be stored in examining rooms for clinicians to use with clients.
